IVA* competition winners for ‘Smart Industry’Posted 2017-02-09
* IVA = Science Academy for Engineers.
First price in the competition for Smart Industry, have been awarded Emballator Växjöplast and Emballator Group. The price was handed over by IVA at the German Swedish Tech Forum in Stockholm on the 31st January 2017.
The jury’s motivation was: “Emballator Plastics & Innovations have, in an exemplary way, used the digitalisation to make production, material handling and internal processes more efficient, and by doing so put a basis for the company’s turnaround. The digitalisation has also been used, in close collaboration with customers, as an efficient tool for the development of tailor made deliveries. Both leadership and personnel involvement are inspiring examples of the width of measurements and the dedication which is needed to use the possibilities of digitalisation.”
The true winners are the co-workers at Emballator Växjöplast and the Emballator Group who have turn the trend – made a ‘turn around’ – and together drive the development with the basis in the units’ culture and dedication. We want to emphasize three key areas which are part of the reward:
- Coaching – our success depends on the leadership
- Philosophy – with Lean as the basis, we build a culture of constant improvements
- Innovation – with new customer unique products and new services
“We have come a long way with customer integration, for example concerning VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory). One example is Orkla and their many well-known brands, where we with the help of VMI optimise both production planning and stock levels as well for our customer as ourselves. We also work with our EVP Academy – a customer academy with various ‘chapters’ handling for example rules and regulations for child protection and dangerous goods – to increase knowledge and awareness concerning critical areas within the branch. To constantly develop ourselves together with our customers and suppliers, are of high importance to us, and we have described this in ‘The Way Forward’, our own book describing our work. The leadership is very much about unleashing the existent force. Everything has been made possible by our dedicated and motivated personnel – that’s the key to our success!”, says Adam Airosto, CEO at Emballator Växjöplast.Back to news
